Sports & Entertainment Researcher
Global Sports & Entertainment, a Los Angeles based sports talent booking and event management firm, is seeking individuals with a superior knowledge of professional, mainstream sports (NFL, NBA, MLB,NHL, UFC, NASCAR etc.) as well as collegiate athletics. We are looking for candidates who eat, sleep, and breathe sports, are detail-oriented, fun to work with and have a sense of humor. We offer three internship cycles per year, each spanning a 16-week time period: Fall (late August to December), Spring (January to end of April), and Summer (May to August).
We work primarily with sports media, events, brands, and production companies to book guests for their programs and special events. As a small company, it’s easy for interns to play a significant role in short-and long-term projects, and make daily contributions that are implemented in our work. You will attend weekly meetings and will be asked to share your ideas about how to improve the product that we deliver to our clients. Previous interns have assisted at events featuring such talent as Jerry West, Adrian Peterson, Shawn Johnson, Wes Welker, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Travis Pastrana and more.
We typically hire interns to work two days per week from approximately 9AM – 4:30PM. Unlike your professor, who probably doesn’t appreciate you scouring the waiver wire of your Fantasy League during class, at GSE, we view Fantasy Sports experience as a plus. We’re proud, self-proclaimed sports nuts, and a major part of our work and daily conversation features a heavy dose of sports talk.
Through our references, connections, and relationships, GSE interns often find future job and internship opportunities with major sports and entertainment companies. Previous interns have gone on to other opportunities with such companies as Wasserman Media Group, Athletes First, ESPN, Sony, The San Francisco Giants, and more.
Those students interested in applying, please forward your resume and cover letter to careers@globalsports-ent.com. Please try to refrain from submitting a generic cover letter – our paper shredder is already overworked.
